Mathew getting his kindergarten diploma

These 2 layouts are of my son getting his kindergarten diploma. I did these layouts for the chipboard challenge over at Treasured Scrapbooking. I have never really used chipboard before. at least not to what I could say I really liked the end result of the layout. However, this layout I think turned out great. I used chipboard to accent Mathew getting his diploma also to accentuate his name. I used a scalloped chipboard boarder and my new glimmer glam, just out of the postal box, alog with distress rock candy. I finally added a star ribbon pull along with ribbon and two other chipboard stars. The chipboard stars were colored using distress antique brone and brass crackle paint. I then took distress rock candy and went over the top of them to crack them further. The ribbon is a piece from my stash. The papers are basic grey recess collection. Hugs Tracy

Mathew on his way to his kindergarten graduation

This is a layout of my son at his kindergarten graduation. I used Basic Grey Recess paper and outlined the flourish on the side with Broken China distress stickles. I added flourish sticker and a rub on from my stash. I also used the Tim Holtz time mask and went over the mask with Broken China. I know this challenge is to combine your old stash with the new. I realize this paper is somewhat old but it is new to me. The mask I just bought on sale at a local scrapbooking store. The stickles and distress ink are old as well as the sticker. The crown rub on is new. I had a lot of fun making this layout Hugs tacy

Just to say hi

Hello everyone
How are you today? well a lot has been happening. My older son moved into my father in law's house. He is thrilled to finally have a place of his own. He is really taking great care of the place too. We are still trying to sell it but for now Mathew is enjoying the bachelor life. He does not have to pay rent but he must keep it clean in case someone wants to see it. It is a nice baby step into the adult world where he will have to pay rent and utilities. He does pay for his own food.
Also With one moving out another moved in. My step son Blake has moved in. It is so great to have him here. He is a good kid. It is also nice that we get a chance to see him all the time instead of the occasional weekend. He likes the high school. My son L.B. is a junior and Blake is a sophomore. The both take Japanese which helps out a lot with the studying. They talk to each other all the time in Japanese. It is fun to watch them speak to each other and communicate on a whole different level.
Life is starting to fall into a routine with the new school year. I am looking forward to a year full of challenges and laughter and probably a more than a few disagreements but overall I feel it will be a great year. Hugs and best wishes Tracy

Nightlife

In this challenge I only had 20 minutes to put this together. 5 minutes were supposed to be spent gathering supplies and the remaining 15 minutes were to spent putting the layout together. You did have to incorporate flowers, fruit or veggies, green, brown, and words. So I did this the flowers are pretty easy to spot they are prima flowers. The felt strip is also made up of flowers. I used brown in the satin ribbon strip and cardstock background paper. WOrd are in the title "nightlife" and in the journaling. The fruits or veggies can be found in the basic grey offbeat paper that is found behind the top photo on the left hand side of the page. I hope you enjoy this layout. Thank you for watching. Hugs Tracy
